Marc Wilkow is the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Principal of M & J Wilkow. Marc Wilkow has served in his current capacity with M & J Wilkow since 1983. From 1977 to 1983, he was a Vice President and General Counsel of the Company, and prior to that, an associate with the law firm of Friedman & Koven.
Marc is, or has been, affiliated with nonprofit organizations including the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies (Past Chairman of the Board), the Jewish Family and Community Service (Past President), The Standard Club of Chicago (Past President), Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical Center (Past member of the Board), and the University of Chicago Law School (Past member of the Visiting Committee). In August 2015, Mr. Wilkow was awarded the Honorary Degree -Doctor of Humane Letters from the Spertus Institute.
Marc is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles where he received a B.A. (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa), and the University of Chicago Law School where he received a J.D. He is a licensed attorney and a licensed real estate broker in Illinois, Pennsylvania and Hawaii.
Executive Vice President,
Sales and Acquisitions, Principal
Gregg Wilkow is a Principal and Executive Vice President within the Asset Management Department. Gregg’s responsibilities include evaluating and negotiating new acquisitions, asset management, as well as dispositions and refinancing of existing assets within the portfolio.
Prior to joining M & J Wilkow in 2007, Gregg spent 6 years at LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO where he was a Vice President with the Commercial Real Estate Group. During his tenure at LaSalle Bank, Gregg’s experience included functioning as a liaison between the President of the Commercial Real Estate Department and the Line of Business, as well as serving as a real estate lending officer with a focus on project related finance.
As a graduate of the UW-Madison Real Estate Program, Gregg received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He remains an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Asset Management
Marty Sweeney is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for M & J Wilkow. Marty joined M & J Wilkow in 1989 and is responsible for capital sourcing, acquisitions and dispositions as well as asset management for an expansive portfolio of retail and office properties throughout the country. In his 28+ years in the commercial real estate industry, he has been responsible for $1.5 billion of property acquisitions representing 10 million square feet of office and retail space.
A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Chicago Real Estate Council (CREC), Marty is active in the commercial real estate community. Marty received a BS in Finance from Illinois State University.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Asset Management
John Wiechart is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management, where he is responsible for identifying new acquisition and development opportunities for M & J Wilkow, Ltd. and its partners and leads the redevelopment, leasing, and management activities for his acquired assets.
Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, Ltd. in 1996, John worked for G.E. Capital Corporation where he originated and underwrote debt and equity investments in a diverse range of commercial real estate assets.
John is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his MBA from University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business. John is a member of multiple real estate associations in Chicago as well as in other markets.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Asset Management
Timothy Shields is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management and is responsible for capital sourcing, acquisitions and dispositions and various asset management assignments.
Tim has 24 years of experience in Real Estate. Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, he worked as Senior Vice President for Ricker Murphy Development, where he was responsible for development, financing and asset management services for an extensive portfolio of properties.
Tim received a BS in Accounting from Xavier University. He is a member of multiple real estate associations in Chicago as well as other markets.
Senior Financial Analyst, Acquisitions and Asset Management
Matthew Sabroff, Senior Financial Analyst of Acquisitions and Asset Management, assists the organization in identifying new acquisition and development opportunities across the country. Matt is responsible for assisting senior-level staff in the underwriting, due diligence, and financing of new acquisitions.
Prior to joining M & J Wilkow in 2016, Matt worked for Colliers International’s Capital Markets Group where he was directly responsible for Financial Modeling, Market Analysis, Broker-Opinion of Value and Offering Memorandum creation. Following his time as an analyst, Matt participated in numerous Multifamily, Self-Storage and Office transactions as an Investment Sales Broker.
Matt is a graduate of Miami University (OH) and participates in multiple real estate associations in Chicago and various charitable organizations.
Jeff Tigchelaar is the Vice President of Office Property Management for M & J Wilkow where he oversees all operations management for M & J Wilkow’s office properties throughout the United States.
Jeff has experience managing a variety of properties including commercial office buildings, retail centers and industrial buildings with properties ranging in size from as large as 4,200,000 down to 75,000 square feet. Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, Jeff held positions including: Senior Real Estate Manager for CBRE, Property/Asset Manager for Vornado and Assistant General Manager of 180 N. LaSalle and 111 W. Jackson for Jones Lang LaSalle. Jeff also worked as an accountant, holding positions that include Director of CAM Audits for General Growth Properties Inc. and Assistant Controller at MMPI division of Vornado.
Jeff received his M.B.A. of Management at St. Xavier University and B.A. at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Kristin is an Associate Director of Property Management at M & J Wilkow. In her current role, she oversees a portfolio of 9 buildings of office, retail, and industrial assets across the US. Kristin also manages a portfolio of 450,000 square feet of office product in the Midwest.
Kristin has more than 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, Kristin was a Senior Property Manager with Cushman & Wakefield in downtown Chicago and a Real Estate Manager with CBRE in suburban Chicago. Prior to joining CBRE, Kristin served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force as a language analyst for six years and was stationed in California, Texas, Maryland and Italy. She has worked on a multitude of buildings ranging from Class “A” and Class “B” office product to portfolios of more than 1 million square feet of industrial assets. She is experienced working with both institutional investors and private equity firms.
Kristin graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.S. in Real Estate and a B.A. in Economics. She is currently working toward her MBA and MSRE at DePaul University.
Darcy Kennelly Rutzen is Vice President of Retail Property Management & Marketing for M & J Wilkow where she oversees all operations and marketing management for M & J Wilkow’s retail properties throughout the United States.
Darcy has 18 years of experience in Real Estate in both property management and marketing with companies including Simon Property Group, Westfield and Prime Retail. A recipient of multiple ICSC MAXI awards for her work on shopping center marketing campaigns, Darcy is also a Milwaukee Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Darcy received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications, and earned a MBA in Marketing and International Business from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She is a Certified Marketing Director with ICSC.
Marty Liles is the Regional Vice President & General Manager of Southlands Town Center for M & J Wilkow, with responsibility for managing operations, development and construction for the company’s national retail portfolio.
Marty has more than twenty years of experience overseeing a variety of retail assets. Prior to joining M & J Wilkow, he served as Vice President of Property Management and Redevelopment for Brixmor Property Group, where he was responsible for the operations of more than 100 shopping centers totaling 14 million square feet of retail space. Marty also held property management roles with New Plan Excel Realty Trust.
Marty received his B.A. in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
As Senior Vice President and General Counsel of M & J Wilkow, David oversees M & J Wilkow’s legal affairs. David has broad experience in structuring, negotiating, and documenting real estate transactions and joint ventures, involving shopping center and commercial office acquisitions, operations, management, development, leasing, and dispositions.
Prior to joining the company in 1988, David was a Law Clerk for the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and later focused on transaction-oriented corporate finance and real estate transactions an attorney at Holleb & Coff.
David is a graduate of Temple University Law School. He is a broadcasting and journalism graduate, cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati. David is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court, Illinois and Texas bars and the International Council of Shopping Centers. His civic and charitable involvement has included Chicago Academy for the Arts Board, Allendale School Advisory Board, National Multiple Sclerosis Auxiliary Board, Chicago Council on Foreign Relations and Homeless Youth Foundation Board.
Cheryl Pala is the Director of Investor Services, Office Operations Manager and Corporate Company Secretary at M & J Wilkow. Cheryl serves as the Company’s investor liaison and oversees the day-to-day operations of the M & J Wilkow corporate office.
Cheryl started her career at M & J Wilkow in 1991 after studying at the Chicago College of Commence.
Cheryl has served as the Illinois State Historian for the Office Education Association.
Shawn Quigley is the Vice President of Accounting at M & J Wilkow. His responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including all the components that make up the financial reporting for the Company’s partners, lenders, and investors.
Prior to joining M & J Wilkow in 1999, Shawn spent four years as an auditor at Philip Rootberg & Company.
Shawn is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and a CPA.
Diane is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, responsible for managing the financial operations of M & J Wilkow, Ltd, as well as ongoing tax compliance, financial modeling and transactional support for acquisitions and dispositions.
Prior to joining M & J Wilkow in 2008, she was a director in the national real estate practice of McGladrey, LLP (Formerly American Express Tax and Business Services, Inc. and Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser, LLP).
Diane received a BS in Accounting from Indiana University and is a CPA. She is also a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society.
Brett Wilkow is the Director of Workplace Wellness for M & J Wilkow where she is responsible for directing the company’s employee health and human resources initiatives.
Brett is a Graduate of University of Vermont - Burlington where she earned her Bachelors of Arts & Science in Applied Anthropology.
A certified RPA, Brett is actively involved in the commercial real estate industry, and has served as Chair of BOMA’s Emerging Leader’s Committee (2013-2016). She is working to complete her Certified Workplace Wellness Specialist credentials.
