National Awards Program Showcases Shopping Center Industry’s Leading Events, Programs, and Technology
CHICAGO, Illinois (May 26, 2017) – M & J Wilkow announced its recent win of two Silver Marketing Awards for Excellence and Innovation (MAXI) in the categories of Public Relations and Traditional Marketing - Grand Openings.
The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) announced the winners of the 2017 U.S. MAXI Awards at RECon 2017, highlighting the retail real estate industry’s most innovative events, programs and technologies that add value to shopping centers and companies across the country. The awards were held on Sunday, May 21st at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
M & J Wilkow and its partner MetLife earned a MAXI Silver Award in recognition of successful grand opening efforts at Town Center of Mililani. The community shopping center, located in the heart of Oahu, Hawaii, completed a major redevelopment project called the “Mililani Makeover”. The completion of the redevelopment was revealed to Town Center of Mililani customers with a “Grand Unveiling”, a weekend-long event comprised of family-friendly programs, sales promotions and celebrations of Hawaiian culture and history.
A MAXI Silver Award was also presented to M & J Wilkow and its partner BIG Shopping Centers for their work on Destination Waterfront, a year-long strategic public relations campaign that brought a series of five new events to The Waterfront, a regional lifestyle shopping center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Designed to strengthen the center’s image as a family-friendly destination, each event had a charitable component which contributed to the local community. Thousands of customers attended these successful events, which were widely shared on social media and covered in the Pittsburgh press.
