600 Battery Street earns Energy Star for 2011

M & J Wilkow is proud to announce that 600 Battery Street has earned the Energy Star designation for superior energy performance for 2011.

600 Battery Street earned the Energy Star rating as a result of energy-saving programs designed to increase efficiency and decrease energy consumption. At the forefront of this program is the Energy Management System (EMS) that controls lighting and all HVAC equipment including chillers, pumps, cooling tower fans and exhaust fans. In addition, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) which are controlled by the EMS, modulate the speed of the air handlers located on each floor of the building. A lighting retrofit created more energy savings with the conversion to T-8 bulbs and electronic ballast, and the installation of motion activated light switches in all restrooms.

600 Battery Street exemplifies M & J Wilkow's continued efforts to expand and enhance the features, systems and programs that foster energy efficiency in its buildings, as well as the health and safety of all tenants and employees.

600 Battery Street is a 3-story, 112,208 square foot Class-A historic office building built in 1927 that had a complete and thorough renovation in 2000. The dramatic renovation now includes an expansive rooftop deck boosting 360-degree views of San Francisco and an outdoor area that provides exclusive use for leisure and recreation to building tenants. The building also sits on a fully-occupied city block on the east side of Battery Street. Directly across from Sydney Walton Square, the building benefits from its prominent location and close proximity to downtown San Francisco.
