Author Aiden Thomas to Hold a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening on Wednesday May 10, 2023, at 9 AM
Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its newest Portland bookstore on Wednesday, May 10th. The new location will showcase the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings. The new Barnes & Noble is located at 9963 NE Cascades Parkway in the Cascade Station Shopping Center, next to Banana Republic. It will officially open to the public at 9 AM ET on May 10th, with author Aiden Thomas cutting the ribbon and signing copies of their books.

"This will be our second new store in the area, joining our Hillsboro location which opened just last summer to much fanfare. It is such an exciting sea change in the fortunes of brick-and-mortar bookselling, with booming sales led by real books being bought in real bookstores. The booksellers in Cascade Station, led by Store Manager Nora Picucci, set out to show how much better than an algorithm an experienced bookselling team is when curating their shelves with local readers in mind."
Barnes & Nobe is experiencing a period of tremendous growth, buoyed by sifnificant expansion of the market for physical books driven by word-of-mouth and social media recommendations. In 2022, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 30 new bookstores in 2023, with the new Portland location being the second in the area to open recently.
