M & J Wilkow Announces the Purchase of Centro Ybor Retail And Entertainment Center

(12/22/2006) -- M & J Wilkow is pleased to announce the acquisition of Centro Ybor, a 211,957 square foot retail and entertainment center located in the historic section of Tampa known as Ybor City. The Property consists of three newly constructed buildings owned in fee simple and the renovated former Centro Espanol Club (a National Historic Landmark), which is on land that has been ground leased through July 31, 2063. Major anchors include Muvico Theatres, Tampa Bay Brewing, GameWorks and Urban Outfitters. “The possibility for development is endless at Centro Ybor,” said David Harvey, Senior Vice President of M & J Wilkow. “We plan to work closely with the City of Tampa and the Ybor City Development Corporation to give this Center a new life.” Harvey also said that a feasibility study is under way to evaluate the Centro Ybor property and to consider mixed-use enhancements that could include office and residential space.
